               Project教学设计

Step 1 Greetings

Greet the whole class.

Step 2 Revision

I will help students to review some key points in the last lesson and check the homework.

Through this part we can consolidate what they studied yesterday, communicate with them about their study and prepare for the new lesson.

Step 3 Warming up and lead in

I will present a video of a speech about sport and say

“Now boys and girls,I believe you enjoy this video very much. Do you like to make your own speech about sport?

The purpose of this step is to attract their attention to make their own speeches about sport. Therefore, it will offer students a relaxing atmosphere and stimulate students’ interests in English learning.

Step 4 Listening and reading

Play the tape for Ss to listen and pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation of the two passages on Page 38 and Page 39, then read them aloud to get the main idea. After that ,well have an ask and answer competition about the two passages. The activity can train Ssquick mind , heat the classroom atmosphere and at the same time help them find out the basic information about making a speech about sport.

The purpose of this step is to help students understand and learn the basic information of making a speech about sport.

Step 5 Making a speech about sport

After knowing about the basic information about making a speech about sport, well turn to make such speeches ,this step will consist of 4 parts

planning 

Divide the class into small groups.Discuss the questions and suggested answers on the Page 39 and then assign tasks to each group member.

Preparing

Group members go separately to finish the tasks. Those who are responsible for doing research need to find some necessary information. The group should discuss the information found and decide how the speech should be made. Then make a draft and have it approved.

producing

Group members responsible for developing making a speech need to follow the outline, proofread it and get it approved.

Presenting

Choose one member to present the speech and answer the questions the other Ss have

The purpose of this step is to help my students further understand and master the knowledge of making a speech about sport.

Step 6 Consolidation

Show Ss a article of a speech about sport on the screen and let students have a discussion about it.

The purpose of this step is to know if my students master the knowledge in this lesson well and let them learn some more writing skills.

Step 7 Homework

Finish off the workbook exercises and self-assessment part after class
